Brief statement on why you’re excited to speak at this conference and/or how you feel you can inspire people to innovate their profession with technology.

I am incredibly excited to present at this conference because of the amazing work that NexGen has done over the past year in producing quality content for behavior analysts. It is an honor to be invited as a presenter. I hope to inspire people to innovate the day to day work that they do and realize we don't all have to be Einstein or Elon Musk to make a difference in this world. It just starts with the goal to #dobetter each and every day.

What interests you, or fascinates you about technology?

I am most interested by how quickly technology changes.

What interests you, or fascinates you about entrepreneurship?

I am most interested in how to maintain ethical service delivery within an entrepreneurship framework.

What are you most known for? We want to make sure novel attendees have as much time to prepare as possible to maximize their learning with you.

At this time I am most known for alternatives to traditional escape extinction and the #dobetter movement.

If you can give words of encouragement to attendees who wish to explore these areas, what would you say?

Never stop learning! You don't know what you don't know. We can always #dobetter

Title of Talk: The Constant Quest to Do Better

Description: Behavior analysts work in an ever changing environment where it is crucial to maintain interaction with peers and mentors to provide the most effective access to our science as possible. The purpose of this presentation is to explore a few stories of how specific clients or "problems" have resulted in important personal discoveries within the science of behavior analysis. Broad scale technological advancements are an incredible feat to achieve for our science. However, sometimes the most important accomplishments come from the technologies we develop specific to a certain client or experience that we can then more broadly apply to the work we do as behavior analysts. Most often the problem you seek to solve is vastly different from the actual reason for lack of progress in the first place. Attendees of this presentation should leave with a sense of how to pinpoint the relevant problem and develop solutions for solving it.

Objectives:

  1. Attendees will be able to describe how to approach at least 1 barrier to learning

  2. Attendees will be able to describe why the analysis in behavior analysis is a crucial component of the work behavior analysts do day in and day out

  3. Attendees will be able to describe at least 1 option for developing a client or problem specific technology
