Design Thinking & Behavior Analysis | Luis Garcia
We asked Luis a few questions about the event and our aim of bringing together behavior analysis, entrepreneurship, technology and clinical applications. Check out his answers and a clear description of the workshop he’s a part of at NextGen Las Vegas!
Brief statement on why you’re excited to speak at this conference and/or how you feel you can inspire people to innovate their profession with technology.
Design Thinking provides a framework that can unlock innovation on any field. I am excited to be able to share what I have learned while practicing and making Design Thinking part of the culture for the organizations I have worked with.
What interests you, or fascinates you about entrepreneurship?
I’m interested in working on real needs and technology that can help people stay human and not worry about technology getting in the way.
What are you most known for? We want to make sure novel attendees have as much time to prepare as possible to maximize their learning with you.
If you can give words of encouragement to attendees who wish to explore these areas, what would you say?
Have and open mind and be ready to unlock the power of your team when all their potential is brought together through a Design Thinking culture.

Description: Design Thinking is a methodology used by companies and designers around the world to solve complex problems, and find desirable solutions for their clients. The NextGen Team believes strongly that Behavior Analysis comes equipped with many truly exceptional processes and tools (e.g., response definition, measurement, conceptualization, evidence-based practices). Yet, the world outside our field also attempts to understand human behavior and design solutions to some of the hardest problems humans face. This morning event is led by Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and Co-Founder of Antibiotic Adjuvant, Inc. Felipe is actively working with the BehaviorMe team (co-organizers of NextGen) to learn about our industry with the help of our social media channels (thanks to all of those who shared their perspective).
The 2.5 hour event is designed to be an interactive experience of exploring what design thinking entails, practicing the process with your colleagues (we’ll introduce you to others as well!), and start to draw the crossroads between the design thinking process and behavior analysis. One component of this process includes interviewing locals and fellow attendees. Submerge yourself in Design Thinking with Luis and BehaviorMe, because we return from lunch with Janet Twyman focusing in on the Instructional Design process before diving into case examples and discussions around the intersection of these various disciplines.
